Excursion to the allnex production plant

Speakers:
Mario Kermautz, Peter Keusch, Clemens Stückler

Date
10/6/2021

On October 6, 2021 we visited the allnex production plant in Werndorf, Austria. Allnex is a global company and leading manufacturer of synthetic resins and additives for paints, varnishes and various types of coating products. In the production plant in Werndorf, 80,000 tons of various products are manufactured annually.

After a 40-minute bus ride, we arrived in Werndorf shortly after 8 a.m. Before entering the company site, we were familiarized with the safety precautions and the dos and don’ts at the plant.

The first item on the program was an exciting company presentation. Mr. Mario Kermautz told us about the product range, the sales figures and the international network of the allnex company. Furthermore, he explained how the production plant in Werndorf is structured and organized.

Next, Mr. Peter Keusch gave an interesting presentation on “Safety, Health and Environment (SHE)” strategies. He and his team deal with questions like “What potential dangers and risks does a process hold for people and the environment and how can a process be designed as safe as possible?” or “What measures must be taken to ensure the safety and health of employees?".

Finally, equipped with a helmet, a protective coat and safety shoes, we visited the allnex production plant. Mr. Clemens Stückler gave us very interesting insights and explained how a production plant has to be equipped in order to be capable of producing several tons per day.

After a final lunch in the cafeteria, we went back to Graz. A group photo as a souvenir could not be missing of course.
