"On March 14th 2023 we invite you to the next JCE excursion to Lenzing AG (location in Lenzing). Lenzing AG uses the natural raw material wood to produce fibers and pulp. Sustainability is the prerequisite for any new development and the excursion offers a fascinating insight into the challenges of pulp and fibre production. Lenzing produces and sells mainly cellulose-based viscose fibres, modal fibres, lyocell fibres and lyocell filament yarns, which are used in home textiles, (work) clothing and hygiene products. In the spirit of sustainability, biorefineries and co-products of pulp and fibre production are recycled and distributed. Mechanical and plant engineering for the production and processing of these fibers is also one of the company’s core competencies. In addition to the Austrian locations in Lenzing (Upper Austria) and Heiligenkreuz (Burgenland), close to 8,000 employees are employed at a further 16 locations worldwide.
