Speaker’s bio: Liane Perktold studied Chemistry at the University of Innsbruck and spent parts of her studies abroad in Bordeaux and Montréal. In addition to her chemistry training, she completed a supplementary program in Computer Science. Liane was actively involved in the European Young Chemists’ Network (EYCN) at both regional and European levels. She is currently pursuing her PhD at the Institute of Science and Technology Austria (ISTA), where she investigates photocatalytic mechanisms in the research group of Bart Pieber.
Through this lecture, you will:
- learn more about ISTA, including its research areas, facilities, and location
- gain insights into the PhD program and the application process
- hear about Liane’s personal experiences as a PhD student at ISTA
The lecture is not exclusively aimed at chemistry students, but at students from all STEM disciplines. Bachelor’s, Master’s, and PhD students, as well as postdoctoral researchers, are all welcome.
