How far can brilliant scientists go without losing their grip or, worse, plummeting into the depths of madness? As some examples show, geniuses of our world walk a fine line; the abyss is often not far away. In his lecture, Prof. Rolf Breinbauer argues that researchers are often successful because they have unconventional thoughts and move outside the well-trodden paths. But this also puts them at particular risk of acting outside proven norms of social interaction, thereby becoming hurtful to others or drifting into madness altogether. The lecture can be attended in person and will also be available for viewers outside Vienna via live stream. Afterwards, please join us at our buffet for a nice finish of the evening. Please state in the form below if you will join in person or online.
