In our career talks, the Young Chemists Vienna are looking forward to providing you with valuable insights into the various fields today’s chemists are working in to make some of your upcoming decisions concerning your professional path easier. The first speaker of our career talks was Dr. Klaus Dobrezberger, who started a career as a teacher at HTL Wels for analytical chemistry and food chemistry after finishing his Ph.D. at TU Wien. In this online talk, the participants got information about what it comes down to being a chemistry teacher, what a typical workday looks like, which additional qualifications and skills are needed, and the advantages and disadvantages of working as a teacher compared to a job in the industry. A question and answer session with 2 HTL teachers concluded the event. The Young Chemists would like to thank Dr. Dobrezberger for his fascinating talk.
