Organizers: Young Chemists Innsbruck
Date: November 22, 2023
On November 22, 2023, the Young Chemists Innsbruck hosted an exciting lecture and discussion event. After a welcome by our regional speaker Andreas Schöler and the moderator Walburga Bischofberger, Prof. Anke Bockreis started with her lecture on "Climate protection through more circular economy". The second speaker was Prof. Thomas Karl, who presented "Climate and atmospheric chemistry observations at the Innsbruck Atmospheric Observatory (IAO)". This was followed by Prof. Dr. Julia Kunze-Liebhäuser with her presentation "Energy conversion and storage at the solid/liquid interface" and finally Prof. Johann Stötter with his lecture "Climate change, transformation, sustainability - from challenges to solutions through ESD?". After these outstanding presentations, a short break was followed by a lively discussion on the topic of sustainability and climate change in research and many exciting approaches were presented. Even after the official part of the event, there was still time for further discussion over a buffet. The Young Chemists Innsbruck would like to thank everyone who took part in this event and hopes that there will be many more interesting events in the future.
